I’ve run out of hearts,
The last one I gave to you,
And I think this is the end,
There’s nothing left to give,
And there is no “starting new.”
I guess I was not enough,
For you to try harder,
Or perhaps you simply couldn’t,
And you preferred what was easy.
I have my fair share of mistakes,
I chose wrong and didn’t listen,
But you’ve made clear what you want,
And yours is frankly unfixable.
I cannot stay any longer,
For loving you hurt too much,
Intensely and constantly,
Like a dagger turning in my heart.
It’s like I’m about to burst,
From all the suffering I’ve endured,
That has now turned into rage,
Ready to cause extinction.
I am not sure if I am sad,
Because I’m letting go of you,
Or because I now know,
That my love is gone for good.
