Be careful who you choose to love,
As they will have the power to kill you,
They’ll sweep you off your feet and then go,
As you fall down the stairs that they’ve built you.
…
The first time you fall it’s going to be intense, but innocent,
As you’ve never felt like this before.
You will only see the good and their potential,
And then they’ll stab you for loving them more.
The passion will burn as your heart does too,
But you will never be able to go deeper,
You might feel your gut pulling you back at times,
But you won’t be able to leave them.
It will be a surface connection at best,
And you will think that it’s perfectly normal,
But eventually, you will break free from their spell,
And never forget what you endured.
…
You’ve already lost a part of your soul,
But the second time is better,
You will choose someone opposite to the one previously,
And they manage to make you feel safe and whole.
That they wear a mask, is something you won’t know,
It’s too late when you see their true colors,
Because you already love more than before,
The passion might be less, but nevertheless,
The intensity cuts deeper with this one.
You won’t pull back, and you’ll hold on,
With everything left in your soul,
You’ll build them a house and make it a home,
And you’ll ignore the cracks as the mask crumbles.
They will suck all your energy and resources,
And use what you give until there’s no more,
They’ll dry you out and then walk out the door,
You’re only a shell to them now, they needed the core.
You won’t believe the new person you’re seeing,
You’ll think it’s a phase and that they’ll change,
“This isn’t the person I’ve cared for”, you’ll say,
Until you wake up one morning and realize,
You were so blinded by their sweet words.
…
The third time you love, you won’t feel it,
You’ll only have crushes from now on,
You won’t ever be able to love deeply again,
Not because you’re not open,
But that part of you is gone.
And you’ll walk out through life with an impaired soul,
But you won’t notice it for a while,
You’ll think that you’re tired, not that your heart is done,
But it will be like this until your body’s dying.
You might feel sparks of joy,
Some things will make you smile,
Maybe you’ll even laugh at some old jokes,
And you’ll still love your pets, but that’s all,
No human will ever turn the lights on,
As those are merely glimpses of the old,
Quickly fading into the unknown.
…
Do not believe the stories they tell you,
That “time heals everything”, for it truly does not,
You’ll never be whole again, or have the energy,
And it’s not part of adulthood, nor is it going to pass.
You’re going to feel numb for the most part,
And you’re going to enjoy it sometimes,
At least now nothing can hurt you either,
But you’re going to miss what you could’ve had.
…
So be careful who you choose to love,
As they have the power to kill you,
And if they do, the sadness won’t stop,
And you’ll be dead walking for the rest of eternity.
You’re going to settle for material things, and a safe path,
But you’ll never trust love or happiness,
And you’ll always have one foot out the door,
When someone crosses your path,
This time, you won’t really care if they leave you.
It is not a nihilistic view, it’s realistic,
And you won’t believe it until it happens to you,
You’ll say “But so many healed in the past”,
Though we did not, most rarely share it.
There’s only one thing that can save you, and that is
Never fall for broken people or things, as they’ll crush you,
Do not believe your love will fix them, maybe it will,
But it will do so at the cost of your own suffering.

Right here is the right blog for anyone who would like to understand this topic. You realize so much its almost hard to argue with you (not that I actually will need toÖHaHa). You certainly put a brand new spin on a subject thats been discussed for years. Wonderful stuff, just great!
Itís nearly impossible to find educated people in this particular subject, however, you seem like you know what youíre talking about! Thanks
